Meeting Summer's Dehydration Challenge - (AS) "People with Addison's disease are at greater risk than the normal person for dehydration, especially in the hot spells of summer and fall. Although drinking plenty of fluids and remembering to get enough salt is recommended, the typical so-called solutions are far from optimal. Gatorade, for instance, is a poor solution because of its high sugar content, which can cause nausea and unhealthy fluctuations in blood sugar levels. Plain water, however, will not support a normal electrolyte balance. Most people are completely ignorant of a very good, healthy solution available at a very reasonable price."
