Robert Joshin Althouse Sensei - Robert Joshin Althouse Sensei is director and spiritual teacher of the Zen Center of Hawaii. He was ordained as a Soto Zen Buddhist Priest by his root teacher, Taizan Maezumi Roshi in 1973. He spent 12 years working as an artist in Los Angeles. Besides for Zen, he has also studied in the Tibetan Tantric tradition with Trungpa Rinpoche and Gyaltrul Rinpoche. Althouse Sensei is a successor of Nicolee Jikyo Miller Sensei in the White Plum lineage.
