East Asian Library - The Library supports the academic teaching, research, and study of East Asia. The Library collection includes Chinese, Japanese and to a lesser extent Korean language materials. The collection is strong in Chinese and Japanese art history, history, language and literature, religion, theater and drama, and Japanese women's studies. As of June 1999, the total holdings of the East Asian Library consisted of approximately 178,298 volumes, which include 114,257 in Chinese, 61,995 in Japanese, and 2,046 in Korean. The Library has more than 1,400 periodical titles, 4,600 microfilm reels, and multimedia resources. There are also approximately 320,000 titles in western languages that support East Asian Studies.
