James B. Photonics and Optoelectronics Design and Fabrication Center - The Center's mission is to support regional industries and start-ups, perform sponsored research, and form a core of design and fabrication technology to support initiatives requiring innovative semiconductor-based device technologies.

Radiation Laboratory - Mission: To support the existing degree programs in sciences, in engineering, and other fields and to foster interdisciplinary academic activity at the UMass Lowell campus and within the UMass system as a whole.

Student Health Services - The staff consists of nurse practitioners, a part-time M.D., a health educator, a secretary, and an insurance coordinator. While walk-in service is provided for emergency first aid, students must have an appointment to see the nurse practitioner or M.D. for an illness or routine health care.

Submillimeter-Wave Technology Lab - The Laboratory's goal is to develop and apply technology in the frequency range of 100 GHz to 5 THz.

The Institute for Plastics Innovation - Offers leaders of the American plastics industry the knowledge and tools to stay in the forefront of research and development.

The Kerr Ergonomics Institute - The goal of KEI is to develop programs and strategies that promote worker health and improve long-term company productivity, broadly defined.

Toxics Use Reduction Institute - TURI was created to promote reduction in the use of chemicals and the generation of toxic by-products in industry and commerce in the State of Massachusetts.

Tsongas Center-Tsongas Industrial History Center - A collaborative project of the UMass Lowell Graduate School of Education and the National Park Service at Lowell National Historical Park. The Center encourages the teaching of industrial history in a hands-on way through on- and off-site educational programs for over 50,000 students annually.

UML Athletics - UMass Lowell Athletics is an NCAA Division II program with Division I Ice Hockey. UML River Hawks sponsors 20 varsity sports, and competes in Hockey East, the New England Collegiate Conference (NECC) and the Eastern College Athletic Conference (ECAC).

UMass Lowell Electronic Library - Links the Boston Library Consortium, FirstSearch, GateNet, Infotrak, and many other scholastic, industrial and commercial databases.
