New York State Sheep & Wool Festival - Third weekend in October. Workshops, competitions, vendors, breeders. This festival combined with the fall foliage make for a wonderful weekend in the Hudson Valley.
 
Spin-Off Autumn Retreat (SOAR) - Annual event sponsored by Interweave's Spinoff magazine. This year's SOAR is October 29 through November 5 at Lake Junaluska, 26 miles from Asheville, NC.
 
Taos Wool Festival - Oct. 6-7, 2001. The Wool Festival at Taos is an annual event featuring sheep, wool and wool products. The Wool Festival is sponsored by the Mountain and Valley Wool Association which promotes sheep and wool of Northern New Mexico and Colorado.
