Alden Country Inn, Lyme - A dependable tavern and inn for almost 200 years, where weary travelers can enjoy hearty portions of victuals, a jug of ale, and a clean room. During the nineteenth century the Old Boston Turnpike passed through Lyme and alongside the site of the Inn. Boston-bound stage coaches from Montreal and travelers on the "Dorchester Road" going from Littleton to Concord stopped for bed and breakfast. Once there were thirteen inns in the village.
