Marstons Mills Public Library - Founded on August 22, 1891 when 15 village residents met at Liberty Hall and formed the Marstons Mills Library Association.
 
Osterville Free Library - Began in the dining room of the James Allen Lovell house on West Bay Road. Mrs. Thankful Ames was the first Librarian. When it outgrew these quarters, it was moved to the Old School House with the Rev. E.B. Hinckley as the Librarian.
 
Sturgis Library - Constructed in 1644 for the Reverend John Lothrop, founder of Barnstable, the house which forms the original part of the library is the oldest library building in the United States.
 
Whelden Memorial Library - Martha Lee Whelden, a West Barnstable school teacher in the 1880's, was renowned for encouraging good reading by her students. Her friend, Mrs. George Linder, was so impressed that she donated two red bookcases and books to the grammar school. A village library had begun.
